DiBari’s work is very versatile when it comes to photography. If one happens to take a peek at his work, they would find photographs of his trip to Italy, small tobacco farms in southern Maryland, and even photographs of a gay wedding. When asked one of his favorite things to take photos of he responded with a grin, “My family.”

Michael DiBari’s work goes far beyond photography; just recently he has begun teaching Visual Arts at Hampton University.  An “Endowed Professor,” as he describes himself, DiBari gets to touch future communication and journalism professionals every day through his teachings. When asked what he enjoyed about teaching at Hampton he responded “being around younger people.” DiBari’s class is more than lectures and reading out of text books. Students who have been a part of Dibari’s classroom get optimum chances to express themselves and their interests visually. Besides giving usual tests and quizzes DiBari assigns his students fun projects including creating book covers, and even magazine spreads.  These fun activities Michael DiBari assigns stimulates students creative side, and gives them a chance to get familiar with programs such as Photoshop and InDesign.

Although, Michael DiBari has only taught at Hampton University for a short period, he has already inspired several students to open up and express themselves visually. In future years, DiBari will surely stimulate the minds of Scripps Howard majors, and give them an opportunity to discover their creative side, they never knew they had and to present it to the world.
